3.5-5GB of space chewed up out of the box just for the OS. ![]() She hit the wall yesterday with app updates (that 400MB limit) and it took some work to get back up over 800MB free, even with the SD card in and settings marked to store on SD card by default. I've got it provisioned for my wife because I needed a 16GB phone. I don't know if the ZTE Maven will ever get Marshmallow, though some speculate it's coming. Overall, I think we're hitting the point where anything under 16GB is unreasonable, and the Marshmallow feature to use the external SD card as a true extension to the internal storage is wonderful and needed on Lollipop as well. The system architecture is partly to blame and the fatness of the system out of the box as another issue. Only about 1.3GB of that card is being used. I have to pick and leave a few off even though I have moved everything that can be moved to my external 16GB SD card, including offline maps, photos, etc. Because of this, I cannot use this phone for all of my app ecosystem. ![]() All preloaded apps and their updates must reside on the phone and cannot be moved to the SD card. I'm not sure of all the reasons, but I think the bloatware has something to do with it. The ZTE Maven has a lot less usable space out of the box than most other Android phones.
